Estella [chariot ride - don’t tell anyone]

O

 Foot bad today

I am not walking today. Taking a cab to the next town. I started walking and realized that I would probably do more damage to my feet if I walked.

The taxi dropped me off at my hotel. Too early to check in. No tubs to soak my feet . The hotel clerk directed me to a dollar store. I got a plastic tub there. I got Betadine at a pharmacy. I’ll take care of my foot In a few hours when I check in.

Estrella Is a beautiful, charming and romantic little Spanish town.  Lots of plazas, shops restaurants and cafés.

I am resting in a plaza next to a fountain.

I need to lighten my load

Spain is fantastic. Beautiful cities and people. Great food and drink. Quite inexpensive. I could live here

I need sleep. I had to wait several hours to check in to the hotel/hostel. I almost fell asleep on a park bench.

The hotel is nice. As often is the case, I find out after the fact that many friends are staying here. I shared a dinner with nine pilgrims from: Devon England, Florida, Oklahoma and Germany. You can guess what the Germans drank.

We had an ice cream and headed home to plan for the next day. Justin (here w his mom Jayne) from Oklahoma has a sore knee. He is taking a taxi tomorrow. Jayne had the brilliant idea to send our backpacks with him. Woo hoo! Just a day pack tomorrow. Leaving at 6 am tomorrow. Forecast 89 degrees.

The light load will be good for my feet.  I dumped about 4-5 pounds of stuff today.

I think my pack will be closer to 15#.

I bought new shoes. Same as my old Merrells but bigger.

I soaked my feet twice today. I watched numerous YouTube videos about blisters. I doctored my feet up again. I’ll be ready to walk tomorrow. It is wine fountain day!
