Second Day in Burgos

We planned to stay two days in Burgos. It was a good idea. Partly to give my feet a rest; but, it turned out to be one of the best days of my trip. And it’s not over yet.

I got to sleep in until 7:30 AM. As I mentioned yesterday, we are in a luxurious apartment. We had to change apartments today. The new one is even nicer.

The plan today was to eat lasagna for lunch with friends. Lea cooked the

Lasagna. I took charge of appetizers. I bought a bunch of pintxos from down the street. I arranged them neatly on platters with some cheese and chorizo.

The doctors from San Francisco brought three bottles of wine. Juan And Maria showed up late with cheese, mortadella and more wine.

After lunch, we toured the cathedral. awe inspiring. Big, ornate, ancient.

New hat from the dollar store

There was a room with artifacts, cups and crosses, etc. from the Cathedral which dated back as far as the 1300s.

It’s now 5:20 in the afternoon. I am writing this because we have a big dinner to come at 9 PM, likely with more wine. I’ll write about that tomorrow.

Burgos is a bustling beautiful city. I haven’t walked around too much because I’m babying my feet. this is a city worth seeing. I’m glad we decided to stay two days.

Things will be different starting tomorrow. Lea and I will be on our own. The start of a new adventure.

Love,
